Introduction: I am a strategist specializing in designing, implementing and operating media projects in Pakistan, UAE, Thailand, Singapore, UK and USA including several television channels, newspapers and web portals over the past 3 decades. I have also trained innumerable young journalists, media persons, program host and anchors.
Lead the Riphah Institute of Media Sciences at Riphah International University and have led a course at the Institute of Communications Studies at University of the Punjab.

My role as a Strategist was to develop new workable ideas for Web portals including Artphotoworld Inc. which aimed at creating a truly global platform connecting photographers, models, artists and others connected to the mass media industry.
Chief Executive, Director and Partner, Dharti Television Network (Dec 2008- Feb 2010)
Major accomplishments include re-launch of the Dharti channel, upgrading its look and feel, designing marketing and sales strategy; building the company’s finance and rating systems for evaluation purposes, successfully managing the appraisal process and closing the deal on the targeted price.
Chief Operating Officer, Consultant, Soundview Broadcasting (2003-2010)
As Chief Operating Officer I managed and represent Soundview Broadcasting’s USA operation in Pakistan (2003 to 2006). Later after resignation from the board, worked as Consultant (2006-2010).
Group Chief of Operations, APNA Television Network (2004 - 2007)
I joined the APNA group and designed, developed, trained, maintained and successfully handed-over the television channel project. I built the infrastructure, obtained permissions & permits, developed a team in Bangkok, Thailand and started its transmission ahead of schedule. Conducted various trainings for newly-hired ordinary graduates and apprentices and thus developed a team of journalists and broadcast media persons. The group has successfully run APNA TV, APNA News (Punjabi), Kook (Saraiki) and Abbtakk (Urdu) television channels.
Founding Director, Kawish Television Network (2002)
I came up with the concept of a regional television network and persuaded Kawish Newspaper Group to launch a Sindhi-language television channel; developed complete feasibility study and initiated the channel, including hiring the staff, procuring the equipment, initiating training, developing programs, obtaining the license and the channel launch.
KTN was unique and pioneering case as at that time there was a shortage of skilled personnel in the field of media, especially in the regional languages. Under my guidance and training a new generation of presenters, journalist, anchors directors, and producers emerged who have turned into successful and well-recognized media personalities in a short span of time.

Technical Director of Innovative Solution provider Innodigitel to its clients mostly overseas. Help building Internet and telecom portals and media related backend software solutions.
Vice President, Network Television Marketing (NTM) ( 1998-2000)
Responsible for general management, operation, production and corporate affairs of the TV network and production house with 14 stations. Rebuilt this company in a smart way to achieve financial objectives effectively. NTM is a success story because of the viewership and financial stability it had achieved.
During my time with NTM, we developed strategy and methodology for cost accountancy in Television Program Production and Operation. This costing methodology and backend management system is now an acceptable model and backbone of over a dozen Pakistani Television Channels.
Independent Newspaper Paper Corporation Limited (1989-1998)
I joined Jang Group Pakistan as head of IT department. I also led numerous shorter-term projects during my tenure. This includes designing & implementing the equipment and newsflow of The News International and others such as the Daily Awam and Infoline, and connecting various local and overseas bureaus (London, New York, Delhi) as well as launching Jang Group’s first website.
I was also responsible for designing and conducting special trainings for the editorial staff on themes such as remote-site reporting, war & conflict reporting, electronic content editing and pagination, news flow etc. These courses were the first of their kind in Pakistan conducted by any media or educational institution.
