美国纽约城市大学教授Jerry W.Carlson来我院开讲
美国纽约城市大学Jerry W.Carlson教授于12月14日19点,在河北大学新校区A1教学楼112教室举办了"Dirt by Nancy Savoca-A Case Study of an American Independent Film"讲座,该教授为博士生导师、资深制片人、全球独立电影和美国电影方面的专家。出席活动的还有吕屹院长及我院老师。
活动开始,吕屹院长发表讲话。接下来,Jerry教授在讲座开始,首先选择讲述萨尔瓦多国家作为开场。接着,Jerry教授讲述关于美国独立电影的研究,并介绍了默片,介绍了独立小众电影的历史。同时还讲述了导演的故事,内容十分精彩。活动中,Jerry教授还解答了真正的现实主义电影的定义,以及用详细的人物形象来解释电影,分析透彻,使同学们容易理解。并且Jerry教授还指出了电影中常出现的问题。活动最后,Jerry教授听取了同学们提出的问题并作出耐心解答。
活动中,Jerry教授讲述十分详细,使同学们受益匪浅。并且创造了中英语言的交流和中外文化融合的氛围。不仅开拓了同学们的眼界,还拓宽了同学们的设计思维。通过此次讲座,Jerry教授更加激发了大家对学习电影了解电影的热情和动力。

The City University of New York professor Jerry W. Carlson, the United States began immediately.
Jerry W. Carlson, the professor of the City University of New York, will hold a lecture namedDirt by Nancy Savoca--A Case Study of an American Independent Filmon the evening of December 14th. The venue for the lecture is at No. 112 classroom of A1 building in new campus of Hebei University. For seats are limited, please come and join in quickly.
A specialist innarrative theory, global independent film, and the cinemas of the Americas, Professor Carlson is Chair of the Department of Media & Communication Artsat The City College CUNY. In addition, at the CUNY Graduate Center he is a member of the doctoral faculties of French, Film Studies and Comparative Literature and a Senior Fellow at the Bildner Center for Western Hemispheric Studies. He has lectured at Stanford, Columbia, Escuela Interrnacional de Ciney TV (Cuba), the University of Paris, and the University of Sao Paulo, among others. His current research is focused on how slavery and its legacy in the New World have been represented in film, literature, and music.
Moreover, he is anactive producer, director, and writer with eleven Emmy Awards. As a Senior Producer for City University Television (CUNY-YV), he created and produces theseries City Cinematbeque about film history, Canape about French-American cultural relations, and Nueva York (in Spanish) about the Latino cultures of New York City. As an independent producer, his award winning films include the Showtime Networks production Dirt directed by Nancy Savoca and Looking for Palladin directed by Andrzej Krakowski.
In 1998 he was inducted by France as a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Academiques. He was educated at Williams College (B.A.) and the University of Chicago (A.M. &Ph.D.).
